Universal Music Signs Anggun Asia’s Got Talent Judge

The most recent record deal signed between Universal Music Asia and Anggun is lauded by the label as ‘one-of-a-kind pan-Asian’ deal that is going to set precedent for many more Asian artists to come.

his deal was signed ahead of the release of her next English-language studio album and before the start of the whole new season of Asia’s Got Talent. This Indonesian songbird has released countless albums in French and English and was has also judged for the acclaimed ‘X-factor’ and ‘Got Talent’ shows in Indonesia. Prior to UM’s deal and over the course of her career, she has enjoyed a long partnership with Sony Music.

“Anggun is, without a doubt, an incredibly talented artist. Throughout her career, she has been lauded not only in Asia but around the world, proven by the fact that she is the best-selling female Southeast Asian artist outside of Asia,” said George Ash, President of APAC at Universal Music.

“I am so proud to partner with Universal Music Asia on this new album. The team is truly amazing and dedicated to both music and artists. I have been working very hard on my new English album, writing songs while having short breaks during my extensive tour across France and Belgium over the past few months,” said Anggun.

Anggun will be collaborating with some of the most talented songwriters and producers and added that this specific album “is probably [her] best album so far” and holds high expectation on the outcome. Her experience in the music industry for over 2 decades speaks of her dedication to her art and is an inspiration to other regional artists.
