Adam Sandler Standup Tour: A Musical & Comical Fanfare
Adam Sandler is back with a rare tour of casinos and arenas to remind live audiences, young and old – that standup comedy and silly ditties are what he does best.
Ever since the release of 50 First Dates, it is hard to discern that beloved comedian-actor Adam Sandler could do anything less than wonderful. He is balancing a seemingly successful cinematic life in more recent films: in starkly serious roles in “Uncut Gems” and most recently 2022’s “Hustle”.
While it may be easy to forget that Sandler’s career began as a standup comic, it was his ticket to an expansive journey in a career in cinema. It was in a Los Angeles comedy club that Dennis Miller first saw and recommended Sandler to “Saturday Night Live” creator Lorne Michaels.
The tour to date has already confirmed 24 dates in major cities in the US. New dates added in December will cover venues in San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento, San Manuel, Las Vegas and finish the whole tour at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The show is for mature audiences only.
After performing at MGM Music Hall at Fenway on 23 October, Adam Sandler commented: “That was a great New England Sunday. Love you guys, let’s do it again tonight” before he began a show at Turning Stone Resort in Verona, New York.
Sandwiched in the middle of the tour is the upcoming Nov 29’s performance at the Kaufmann Concert Hall in New York. In a promotional stint for Netflix’s film “Hustle” – a special screening with Adam Sandler in conversation with Josh Horowitz.
In the mid-to-late 1990s, Sandler toured with goofy, rude standup bits mixed with lovable, sing-along songs of his own, such as “The Chanukah Song” and “The Thanksgiving Song.” And he injected music into many of his most beloved onscreen appearances, like “The Wedding Singer.”
