Earlier this month, Billboard Vietnam debuted their attendance at the Billboard Music Awards 2019 by inviting Vietnamese artists Trong Hieu to guest host the red carpet and show held at Last Vegas, thus, becoming the first ever Vietnamese artist to have graced the award’s red carpet.

Having launched in January 2019, Billboard Vietnam debuted its attendance at the music awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 1, 2019. Aired live on NBC and hosted by Kelly Clarkson for the second year in a row, the show saw Mariah Carey received the Icon Award, Madonna performed her latest single ‘Medellin’, and Drake bagged twelve awards — surpassing Taylor Swift to become the top award recipient in BBMA history.

Drake’s top awards include top artist and top Billboard 200 album, each for the second time in three years.

BTS became the first K-pop act to win top duo/group. Fan-voted as the top social artists at BBMA for the third year in a row, the group is halfway to beating Justin Bieber’s six-year lock on that award.
