Naim Daniel Nominated for MTV’s EMAs 2021
Naim Daniel has much to give. With a new nomination by MTV’s EMAs 2021, his songs are up against other prominent contenders in the region.
Undefined in a new generation of artists, Naim Daniel is set to become one of Malaysia’s most prominent artists of the decade.
Naim Daniel isn’t your normal 24-year-old actor and singer-songwriter with a degree and office job. After earning a diploma from the music faculty of Universiti Teknologi MARA, he began acting in Malaysian productions for television series and films including Cucu Betong (2008) and Mr. Mama (2009) released on TV3.
Daniel joins SB19 (Philippines), Ink Waruntorn (Thailand), JJ Lin (Singapore), K-ICM (Vietnam), and Lyodra (Indonesia) as nominees under the Best Southeast Asia Act category.
2021 MTV EMAs frontrunner Justin Bieber secured eight nominations. Bieber’s nods include Best Artist, Best Pop, two Best Song nominations for his global hits Peaches. Ed Sheeran and EMA newcomers Olivia Rodrigo and The Kid LAROI follow closely with five nominations each, including Best Pop and Best Song for Sheeran and Rodrigo.
2021 MTV EMAs will take place at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna in Hungary, and broadcast live on MTV channels in 180 countries on Sunday, November 14 at 9:00pm CET.
Naim Daniel’s Acting and Music Career (2008 – Present)
Films and television aren’t his only vice. Daniel also has a canary voice of youth waiting to break out of its cage. In 2018, having already held over twenty roles in film and television productions, Daniel was ready to add more repertoire to his career on screen.
He launched a music career in 2018 after signing a music recording contract with World Peace Entertainment. What followed thereafter was the debut of two singles, Sekali Lagi and Sempurna in the same year.
The singles won great reviews from a growing audience and listeners of the streaming era.
Over the next three years leading to 2021, more nominations flowed in including Best New Male Artists and Popular Male Actor from Berita Harian’s 34th Anugerah Bintang Popular.
In 2019, Daniel released single Sumpah, which became his greatest single success to date. However, a run-of-the-mill story wouldn’t be exceptional without its own controversy. A good song can go a long way and so it has been for Naim Daniel. One of the saving graces to a career in entertainment is definitely in the sweet, crisp voice of this young man.
