The coast of Desaru in Malaysia will be seeing the grand opening of Hard Rock Hotel this September 28. Taunted as the brand’s second rock-and-roll-inspired hotel in Malaysia after Hard Rock Hotel Penang, the celebration will be featuring Malaysia’s rock legend Amy Search, famed for his hit single “Isabella”.
The party is set to also include live performances of DJ Chinois, Hydra, The Sharp9 and Mira & Friends alongside its iconic guitar smashing ceremony and fireworks.
Hard Rock Hotel in Desaru is set along the southern east coast of the Malaysia peninsular facing the South China Sea. It is also the seventh Hard Rock Hotel operating in Asia.
The hotel’s memorabilia of rock star collection includes The Rolling Stones and Rihanna.

Albeit its tumultuous beginnings initiated by two young Americans in 1971 — Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton — Hard Rock’s venture into hospitality began only after Rank Group PLC scored a coup acquiring Peter Morton’s Hard Rock America as well the ownership to Hard Rock Canada owned by Nick Bitove, which marked a significant moment in history, the Hard Rock brand was now in total control by one entity. On December 7, 2006, Rank sold its Hard Rock business to the Seminole Tribe of Florida for $965 million.
