Wired Music Week Unveils Phase 1 Line-Up 2019 Following the success of Wired Music Week last May, John Beh and his team at RBRN IDEAS is charging ahead revealing its Phase 1 line-up of speakers including artists, label managers, music producers and engineers and more for the return of its second edition come March 2019’s conference.
Following the success of Wired Music Week last May, John Beh and his team at RBRN IDEAS is charging ahead revealing its Phase 1 line-up of speakers including artists, label managers, music producers and engineers and more for the return of its second edition come March 2019’s conference.
Beh founded Wired Music Week – one of Malaysia’s very first music conference focused on establishing a more vibrant electronic music landscape in Malaysia. Last May, apart from the panel discussions and workshops, WMW also hosted a no-frill exclusive meet-up session between labels and unsigned artists and music producers.
“Beh’s approach is the culmination of a rapidly growing demand for creative producers to create and distribute works digitally worldwide. The country and surrounding region lacks the presence of a face-to-face networking moment, hence the reason for such an event like Wired Music Week. He sees the passion of creatives and hopes to fill that gap,” says Monica Tong, editor-in-chief of Music Press Asia.
Although access to live electronic music concerts, festivals and music conference surrounding SE Asia has increased over the last 10 years, Malaysia continues to lag behind in its discussions and participation for the underground-to-mainstream genre.
“WMW’s second edition takes Malaysia on a new journey of music discovery and marks a significant twist to how we’ve all come to embrace this genre and is just the tip of the iceberg for many more opportunities to come for artists, labels and companies in the music ecosystem here in the region,” commented Monica Tong.
Following a successful first edition in 2018, the conference returns to Kuala Lumpur extending one more day to its previous 3-day event and estimating over 2,000 attendees over its 4-day programme. Wired Music Week 2019 is set to take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 7 to 10 March 2019. Check out its wide range of tickets, including student prices, to the conference and festival here.
