MIA Partner With UnUsUaL Entertainment And StarPlanet To Present Wang Leehom World Tour, ‘Descendents of the Dragon 2060’.
MIA has partnered with Southeast Asia’s top music promoter UnUsUaL Entertainment – a mm2 entertainment company [Singapore] and StarPlanet [Malaysia] for the Singapore- and Malaysia-leg of Leehom’s ‘Descendants of the Dragon 2060’ World Tour.
Leehom’s World Tour began in Beijing last year, makes its way to Singapore [Jan,5 2019] before heading to Malaysia come March 16, 2019.
Both UnUsUaL Entertainment and Star Planet are no stranger to organizing live performances in this Southeast Asia. Catering to mainstream demand, its live concerts are catered to fill stadium-capacity venues. Nevertheless, their programme calls for some of the most popular artists – with the help of data technology – are able to organize demand that comes directly from the region’s largest fan base.
Dubbed the Live Nation of Asia, UnUsUaL aim to provide majority of its acts from the West, previous acts include Jason Mraz, Sam Smith, Air Supply, Backstreet Boys, and Foo Fighters, and more. After culminating such feats organizing some of the world’s top acts, it continues to fight for a larger market value especially in the live industry; to grow an ever more impressive portfolio of Asia’s legendary acts that can drive stadium-capacity ticket sales.
Having its mother company mm2 Asia Limited go IPO in December 2014, the company marks a precedent move to become one of the most successful music promoters in Asia.
Other participating partners include Taihe Music Entertainment and Lead Eastern.
Star Planet’s stride, in comparison to UnUsUaL, is perhaps altogether a different story to tell. Over the last decade, they have been presenting worldwide stardom to Malaysia’s most extreme fan base. While conventional promo-tours and nationwide marketing may have fulfilled just a quarter of its tricks to bring profit to the company, Alan Foo founder of StarPlanet is relentless in its efforts driving nationwide craze for 80s and 90s Canto-pop – a famous genre among the Chinese-speaking entertainment scene.
Star Planet has pioneered a nationwide love for some of Hong Kong, Korea, Japan and Taiwan’s most popular musical exports including Jacky Cheung, Sam Hui, Kitaro, Mayday, Hacken Lee, Zhao Chuan, The Exo and many more.
