Budweiser STORM Festival China Goes Abroad in 2017

Are they ready? A2LiVE is speeding ahead launching a conglomerate of products and services covering broadcast, music services platforms, and record label to take over the content making of the electronic music scene in China.

Eric Zho, founder and CEO of A2LiVE, the producer and promoter of Budweiser STORM, has announced its 2017 touring plans in its annual press conference held in Shanghai yesterday. Alongside the announcement that the festival will be expanding to other cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Changsha and Xiamen, China, it has also included two additional cities outside of China: Taipei and most probably Sydney in Australia as part of the tour.

The company has revealed its latest project – Storm Records! – a new record label that has been established in collaboration with Spinnin’ Records, one of the largest independent dance music label worldwide. This collaboration with the Amsterdam-based Spinnin’ is aimed at joining efforts between these two continents will soon see more new and fresh work being generated.

The electronic music scene has continued to see growing popularity among its youth in China in recent years. Tickets for some of the markets for the 2016 editions sold out within minutes, and its iconic limited-edition aluminum Budweiser STORM bottle became a must-have item among its music fans.

A2LiVE will continue to host the 3rd edition of IMS Asia-Pacific in Shanghai on 21-22 September – a gathering of industry giants to explore and discuss new ideas and challenges of the electronic dance music industry in the Asia-Pacific region. Last year, Jolin Tsai announced her collaboration with Alesso. In conjunction with IMS Asia-Pacific and OWSLA, Skrillex also made an appearance at IMS as a speaker and also the Boiler Room – it became one of the highest streamed Boiler Rooms ever!
