Sentul Venue KLPAC Kicks Off First Quarter Season of 2025 with Live Music Programs

Led by Music Director and Resident Conductor Cheryl Mah, The klpac Symphonic Band is kicking off its 2025 season with an exciting night to bring audiences beyond the screen and enjoy a mix of music from famous musicals to iconic movies soundtracks.

Musical lovers are invited to enjoy medleys from the best of Broadway and West End hits including Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classics like “Oklahoma”, “Getting To Know You”, “The Carousel Waltz”.

The programme also features award-winning productions by some of the biggest names in musical theatre, including West Side Story’s “America”, Miss Saigon’s “The Heat Is On In Saigon”, and Cats’s “The Old Gumble” and “Memory”.

Film enthusiasts will not feel left out with a thrilling selection of movie soundtracks, including themes from Batman and John Williams’ hauntingly beautiful Schindler’s List.

The concert will also pay tribute to legendary film composers with a medley of Ennio Morricone’s works from the movie Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, featuring “Tema d’Amore”, “Prima Gioventu”, as well as Nino Rota’s works such as “Baccaccio 70”, “La Dolce Vita”, “Amarcord”, and “8 e 1⁄2”.

The Baroque period was a time of rich musical innovation, characterised by ornate melodies and dramatic contrasts. The klpac String Orchestra, under the baton of Resident Conductor and Music Director Andrea Sim, presents a vibrant programme showcasing masterpieces from this golden era.

Audiences can look forward to some of the Baroque period’s most celebrated works, including J.S. Bach’s uplifting “Air on the G String”, the rousing “The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba” from George Frederic Handel’s famous oratorio “Solomon”, and Arcangelo Corelli’s festive “Christmas Concerto”.
