Victor le Masne Composed Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024’s Official Music
On 8 May, Paris 2024 unveiled the official musical theme of the Olympic and Paralympic Games for the ceremony to welcome the Olympic flame to Marseille.
Composed by Victor le Masne, the music features symphonic and electronic sounds to embody the dynamic and universal spirit of the Paris 2024 Games.
Titled “Parade”, the official musical theme of the Paris 2024 Games was performed for the first time to members of the public attending the arrival of the Olympic Flame in Marseille.
It was played live by the Marseille orchestra from the Palais du Pharo. The music was recorded with the Orchestre National de France and the Chœur et Maitrise de Radio France.
“I am honoured and excited to contribute to the unforgettable experience of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games as Composer of the Official Musical Theme and Musical Director of the Ceremonies. I aim to create an original soundtrack that will not only accompany the most memorable moments of these historic Games, but will also remain etched in the memories of all generations,”
— Victor le Masne
“Victor le Masne sets all the magic of the Paris 2024 Games to music with vivacity, composing both the values of sport and the ambition of Paris 2024 to set the pace for the coming months,” said Tony Estanguet, President of Paris 2024.
Victor le Masne is also working alongside Thomas Jolly as Composer of the four ceremonies of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, each of which will have its own sound identity, inspired by the Official Musical Theme.
In 2022, Victor le Masne was already working alongside Thomas Jolly on the musical direction of the famous rock opera “Starmania”, for which he produced the new arrangements.
Victor le Masne also previously worked with Paris 2024 on the handover ceremony between the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Games, with a brilliant re-orchestration of the Marseillaise performed by the Orchestre National de France.
