Gospel Music Association 52nd Dove Awards
On October 22 (Friday), The GMA Dove Awards fifty-second edition was exclusively aired on TBN (Trinity Broadcast Network) and simulcasted on SiriusXM The Message.
Honouring outstanding achievements and excellence in Christian Music since 1969, this year’s GMA Dove Awards was recorded in Nashville. It featured performances by artists including Dante Bowe, CAIN, Lauren Daigle, Hope Darst, Elevation Worship, The Isaacs, Maverick City Music, We The Kingdom, Natalie Grant, KB feat. Matt Redman, Koryn Hawthorne feat. Donnie McClurkin, and many more.
Additionally, the Dove Awards also highlighted presenters including Chris Tomlin, Kevin Quinn, Francesca Battistelli, and Jekalyn Carr. Natalie Grant and Jonathan McReynolds co-hosted the show this year.
CeCe Winans won Gospel Artist of the Year and performed ‘Believe For It’ at the event. The same song also won the Gospel Worship Recorded Song of the Year, which was co-written by Winans herself, Kyle Lee, Mitch Wong, and Dwan Hill.
‘The Blessing’ – named Song of the Year – is a collaboration between publishers Capital CMG Paragon, Kari Jobe Carnes Music, Music by Elevation Worship Publishing, Worship Together Music, and Writer’s Roof Publishing. With co-writers including Chris Brown, Cody Carnes, Kari Jobe, and Steven Furtick.
The band We The Kingdom, signed to Sparrow Records, staged a magnificent performance at the Awards. The bagged Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year for their album titled ‘Holy Water’, which was produced in collaboration with Ed Cash and Steven V. Taylor. The Gospel Music Association, founded in 1964, is the face and voice for the Gospel and Christian music community in the U.S. They dedicated their efforts to exposing, promoting, and celebrating the Gospel through music of all styles and genres.
The GMA also produces The GMA Hall of Fame Induction and Honors Ceremony, and the IMMERSE Conference.
