Praised by The New York Times as “eminently cultured” and possessing “sheer incisiveness and power”, Malaysia conductor, composer and pianist Tengku Irfan makes routine appearance at Malaysian Philharmonia Orchestra.

Irfan is no longer a ‘foreigner’ to what we’d deeply feel about young graduates, out in the world and pushing to make a name for themselves.

The multiple international award recipient, who conducted MPO’s 20th Anniversary Gala Concert 2018, is also the Youth Ambassador of the orchestra, will be performing on August 17, 2019 at the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Comfortably sitting on the ranks of those ‘sweet 16’, passionate youth, Irfan tackles French’s finest impressionist export Ravel, rhyming puffs, blows and hair on strings into musical masterpiece that would make Disney’s Aladdin sing-a-long feel as small as a peanut.

Maestro Jun Märkl conducts Schumann’s 2nd Symphony – composed to pay homage to Bach and Beethoven. And opens the concert with Schmann’s ‘Carnaval’, more known as music colour-painted on air.
