SXSW, one of the largest music, film and art festivals in the world covering half of the city of Austin for over a week, is going to see a lot more outreach covering discussions around globalisation involving some of the largest and economically affecting countries in Asia.

Demystifying Asia’s Music Industry, chosen as the title for the panel, includes key industry leaders from Asia to discuss more in-depth topics in the growing digital part of the business covering the development of mobile & tech through to privacy and legal licensing.

The invited panelists include Justin Sweeting from Magnetic Asia who is also the organiser for one of Hong Kong’s biggest music festival – Clockenflap; Summer Kim is Head of Business Development of CI, a UK-based digital service distributor; Sebastian Mair, president of Music Solutions, a Japan-based that focuses on fan-artist engagement and branding; and lastly, Ed Peto founder of Outdustry – a China-based consultancy that provides artists management, production, rights and marketing services to artists.

The panel will also cover discussions related to the role of labels and how music and artistic content be effectively distributed to one of the fastest growing and second largest music consumer markets in the world.
