Hong Kong Youth Music Camp to Train 400 Young Musicians This Summer
Applications are now open for the 2026 Hong Kong Youth Music Camp, organised by the Music Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, with registration closing on 30 March 2026.
More than 400 young musicians are expected to take part in the annual summer programme, which brings together student performers from across Hong Kong for intensive rehearsals and ensemble training led by conductors and music educators from Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong and overseas.

The camp will take place across two sessions in July and August, offering specialised training for orchestral, band, choral and Chinese instrumental ensembles. Participants will receive coaching from a roster of internationally active conductors including Jean Philippe Vanbeselaere, Dr. Cui Yuanyuan, Dr. Tracy Wong, Prof. Chen Bing, Prof. Nicholas Williams, and John Sit.
Camp Schedule
Camp A will run from 20–25 July 2026, featuring the Symphony Orchestra, Junior Chinese Orchestra, and Children’s Choir. Rehearsals will take place at venues including the Studio Theatre at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, as well as Music Office centres in Kwun Tong and Shatin.

Camp B will be held from 27 July – 1 August 2026, with ensembles including the Chinese Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and Junior String Orchestra rehearsing at Music Office facilities in Tsuen Wan and Mongkok.
The programme will conclude with two public performances showcasing the work developed during the camp. The first concert will be held at the Yuen Long Theatre Auditorium at 3pm on 26 July, followed by a second concert at the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall at 3pm on 2 August.
Participation in the camp is priced at HK$1,270.
For many students, the annual camp provides an opportunity to rehearse in large ensembles under professional conductors while preparing for public performances at major concert venues across the city.
