The panel lead by Director of LUCfest, Weining Hung with James Minor from SXSW may seem something a little distant. With festivals and live concerts cancelled or postponed during the pandemic, they will discuss how music festivals could continue the brand spirit and keep the music alive. These areas are still experimental and new to a post-pandemic world, but nonetheless issues that are critical to the entertainment world moving forward.
In another session continuing the discussions of live music, see how festivals and talent curators discuss the consequence of moving towards a digitalised world and connecting networks and sharing resources. Moderated by Miamin Yen, Director of Taiwanese Waves, the panel includes Vaidas Stackevicius (Director of Lithuanian Music Business Association Lithuania), Darryl Hurs (Owner of Indie Week Canada), Peter Astedt (Owner of Musichelp/ Booker at Future Echoes Sweden) and Carmen Barahona (Director, En Orbita festival Chile)
The panel discussing overseas buyers is a more direct focus into the commercialisation of music as intangible assets available for licensing and expanding rights. It will be moderated by Dennis Yang (Managing Director of Studio76 Original Productions Ltd) with panel: Budha Terao (Chairman of Moon Romantic Office Co Ltd Japan), Jerome Williams (Agent & Senior Promoter, Earth Beat Netherlands), and finally Keith Tan (CEO of Slate Entertainment Director; Director of Market Development at CD Baby Asia Pacific).

Music Awards and Nominations
Under the music awards 2021, Golden Melody Awards received a submission of 1,499 albums and 21, 349 singles for consideration. Compared to the previous year of only 151 albums and 1,888 singles). The selection process took over three months by a eighty-three person panel across three stages. Across twenty seven award categories, a total of 171 were nominated.
Rock Records boasts the most number of nominations across twenty one difference categories. The albums Originally by Taiwanese singer Olivia Tsao and Gain Strength by indigenous singer Sangpuy each received eight nominations, a tie as the most nominated albums.
The 32nd Golden Melody Awards taking place this weekend sees the likes of Hebe Tien, One-Fang, JJ Lin, Wu Qingfeng, Sitar Tan, Sunset Rollercoaster and Panai competing for the most coveted awards in the music industry in the Mandarin, Cantonese and tribal dialects across the region covering Southeast Asia to the geographics of north China.
