Midem Africa 2021 Alliances Francais Partner. Music Press Asia

Starting today, Midem Africa’s four-day program will see the announcement of Kenya as Country of Honour, new keynotes and stellar artist performances. Midem Africa, the first pan-African digital music event, will map the African music industries, inaugurating its first digital edition featuring Kenya as Country of Honour.

Joining forces with French Institutes and Alliances françaises’ network of cultural partners from the region, Midem Africa will reach more than ten African cities through a series of dedicated physical events. This is to encourage the coming together of music professionals via a ‘phygital’ experience (digital and in-person) and also access to online content.

This partnership between MIDEM/IF/AF will allow the organisers to offer free access to the first pan-African digital event for the music industry — part of a renewed outlook of the network of French Institutes and Alliances françaises across the continent.

Thomas Weill, head of the Music and Cultural Industries mission for sub-Saharan Africa at the French Embassy, says:  “This new partnership between MIDEM, the world reference for professional meetings in the music industry, and the French cultural network, French Institutes and Alliances françaises, is part of the dynamic support of these operators to the stakeholders of the cultural industries in Africa.”

Its business accelerator program will include workshops and masterclasses for both artists and executive. Brief program category as follows:
