The vinyloftheday mobile app has recently launched as an online shopping vinyl record marketplace that hosts a variety of new and used records to buy and sell.
Famous for its hashtag #vinyloftheday on Instagram, the platform established in 2013 in Singapore is now offering users to buy, sell and trade records via a user-friendly interface available on the Apple Store mobile app for iPhone with the Android version coming soon.
Kurt Loy, founder of Vinyloftheday and also brains behind the app, saw the resurgence of interest in vinyl and took on the opportunity to develop a marketplace platform just for vinyl. The app is highly focused on providing a user-friendly search interface; alongside artists names, genre, title, price and condition of the vinyl, the app also comes with buyer and seller ratings categorised specifically by ranging from Balearic, Disco, to hip hop artists.
“”The need to provide an all-in-one, on-the-go service for collectors to purchase vinyl records at a competitive price has never been more compelling,” Loy said.
Vinyloftheday aims to expand beyond just the transaction of vinyl. It aspires to build an ecosystem and culture of collecting vinyl. Other gadgets used alongside the records such as turntables, headphones, and music merchandise like band tees, gig posters, and many others are also available through the platform.
Vinyl sales have recently surged mainly from the direct result of music streaming. Check out also our very own discovery of QRATES, Japan and US-based platform which crowdfunds the vinyl production of albums according to demand. Business has never been better.
