The School of Music of HKAPA To Present Mozart’s Don Giovanni
The Academy Opera: Don Giovanni is coming to Academy Rita Tong Liu Drama Theatre this March 25, 26, 28 and 29.
In a recent collaboration with the Schools of Theatre and Entertainment Arts, Drama and Dance, the School of Music of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts will present Don Giovanni, opera composed by Mozart with Italian libretto Lorenzo Da Ponte.
First performed in 1787 at the National Theatre in Prague, Don Giovanni is an opera is categorized as a comic drama based on a legendary tale of a notorious nobleman who seduces countless women.
Reputed as one of the greatest operas ever written, it combines elements of comedy and tragedy, mixing styles and exploration of moral themes.
