MONO Tours “Requiem For Hell” in Asia

For those of you who are new to MONO and if you so happen to be in Kuala Lumpur tonight at the same time craving for extensively symphonic rock music of the highest order, then head to Pentas at KLPAC.

MONO is now touring Asia to promote their latest album releases titled “Requiem For Hell. Hosted locally by Soundscape Records in Kuala Lumpur, the band has been performing in Taiwan will proceed with their tour in South Korea (21 January 2017) and wrapping up back in Daikanyama Unit in Tokyo, Japan on 12 February 2017.

MONO, the Tokyo-based four-piece instrumental rock band, formed in 1999 blends powerful stringed orchestration with classically distorted guitar highlighted extensively through its dynamic experimentation that paints long-living abrasive and romantic sound.

Featuring five songs, their 9th album released in October 2016 was produced, recorded and mixed by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago, mastered by Bob Weston, with all of the songs written by MONO’s very own Takaakira “Taka” Goto.

“They [MONO] are international not because they are instrumental but are [international] because their themes feel like the soundtrack to your life; to vital moments to someone’s life….that turns a mundane task seemed extraordinary…” Jeremy DeVine, owner of Temporary Residence Ltd.

Touring worldwide around 150 shows annually, the band has performed in over 50 countries and boasts as one of the most internationally successful bands from Japan revered as one of the best live rock bands.

Since their 9th album release in October 2016 including a live album with New York orchestra, the band has received the highly regarded award “The Marshall Hawkins Awards: Best Musical Score – Featurette” from the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema for a short film titled “Where We Begin” in 2015.
